I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 with Windows Vista. My mouse locks up and the computer freezes. I thought it was a virus but after running a scan, it still kept happening. I tried cleaning up my registry but I don't think that helped. HP was no help to me so what should I do?

I have a similar HP as yourself and that silly proplem with the touch mouse pad thing is just solvable by using a mouse that can be attached via USB. The battery/rechargable battery only has thus much of a lifespan and if u are a frequent user, i.e. it runs on the powersocket continously, then the lifespan is shortened rapidly......so my suggestion would be to get a new "power adapter" and see if that wont fix it ....hope it works out !
