About
Founded in 2005 the Lucerne (Switzerland) based cultural network Korsett is home to 19 swiss Multimedia-Artists, Sound Designers, DJ’s, Graphic Designers and Promoters. As a nodal point, the conglomerate promotes Parties, Concerts and other types of events with a focus on electronic music and visual media. Besides that, Korsett tries to place its artists at events and since 2011 publishes also their music as a small label.

Demegy drops his third release for Korsett and it is a rough one. After his beautiful 2011 release “If it’s you”, co-founder of Korsett music label and hard working producer Marc Hermann launches another well designed piece of work between abstract Dubstep and IDM.

“Landing/Chnorz” is a 2 track EP, truly made for bass addicts. Wobbly basslines combined with pressuring drumkicks make a perfect match to the gritty atmosphere. Besides that, the well-spread sound effects add some extra gloominess to the musical scenery.

The release has no need for additional remixes as both tracks are complementing each other in an excellent way.

The third and last release on Korsett in 2011 brings you english vibes to your living room and fast rhythms to your ears.

Kackmusikk (half of Hood Regulators DJ-Crew) has his debut EP “Stella” ready and it is definitely influenced by and dedicated to the dancefloor. Along with crispy 808-sounds and impulsive rhythms, the subtle acidlines and harmonic synth-pads add some extra pressure to the whole release, the smooth and cutted vocals on the title track are sung by the talented Lucerne based post-rock band “Field Studies”. The Affinity to the current UK-Bassmusic hype is just unmistakable.

The Hood Regulators are known for their musical intuition in actual clubmusic and they once more prove it. They converted the original material with care into a remix which reminds of “Bangs & Works”-productions. Fast rimshots and rattling clapsnares transform the original into a true footwork-anthem – A massive clubbanger!

A 3-track piece to celebrate club culture without disregarding the subtleties of electronic music.

Shortly after the premiere of Breakshake Remix Compilation, Number 2 is here on Korsett - a young label from the series of the Lucerne Collective organizer of the same name.

Demegy presents “If It’s You”, a subtle deep electronica track, linking artful dub style with intricate rhythms and melancholy. Despite its originality the sound sparkles with many references – above all, evoking memories of earlier Apparat-Productions.

Labelmate Partikel processes the original material in a remix for an equally deep, minimal dub version enriched with field recordings and vocal samples. This track doesn't completely eschew the dance floor, but by design is decidedly transcendent of Prime-Time.

Mature, "intelligent dance music“, which, without seeming hyper-intellectual, deeply massages the head and heart.

For the past five years the Lucerne Korsett Collective has arranged together concerts, events, performances and presentations in the atmosphere of current graphic design, animation and electronic music.

With a lot of passion, unpaid work and guests from all over the world, the conglomerate of different artists, graphic designers, musicians and organizers achieved to become known beyond its region.

This is why they decided for a first release of material from their own ranks. Thanks to the remix support by like-minded people, the Breakshake Remix-Compilation sees the light of day in a limited edition. Based on the starting material of the two Korsett members Demegy and Somtek 12 tracks have made it in a quasi-democratic selection process to be on the CD.

The tracks oscillate between Dubstep, Breakcore, IDM and Techno.

Part of the party: Karsten Pflum, DJ Donna Summer, Fexomat, Noize Creator, Jools, and of course the producers guard of the collective.

Phucking Happyend - Bitter Sweet EP

„Heavy Weight Bass Music“ made in Switzerland: The two long-time companion labels Hula Honeys and Korsett Kollektiv join forces to present the Bitter Sweet Remixes, outlining current Bass Music between Wonky, Footwork, Dubstep and Rave."

With the original track Bitter Sweet, Phucking Happyend sets up the prototype of a floor killing track: walls of synth-sounds, piling up arpeggiator figures and a stepping beat aim at the floor from the first moment on a key track in any Wonky, Abstract Hip Hop or Rave-Set.

The remixers focus on other elements: Red Bull Music Academy 2011 participant Kackmusikk sends the percussion back to the 80ies in his „Kackmusikk Changes Everything Remix" - the stabs, thundering snares and sweet vocals, work the woofers in the best Footwork manner.

On the flip, Nik! focusses on the offbeat, the organ stabs and the bleeps: his „Candy Dub" adds an acid bass line to the original and rolls out at smooth 132BPM.

Somtek caters for the pressure from way down: his „Phaser Edit" rolls and rattles over a bed of distorted kicks, while the arpeggiator sounds fly through the room and connect Dubstep patterns with Glitch sounds.

Footwork, Wonky, Dubstep, Rave: these tracks are a hommage to the bass- oriented dance floors around the globe and they prove the quality of an emerging generation of producers who develop current musical styles further with independant tracks further.
