LEON SWITCH & KRYPTIC MINDS ALBUM
von Anonymous am 12.11.2004, 17:46
|
After some of D&Bs heaviest releases in recent years on Hostile, Unkut and the legendary Metalheadz, Leon Switch and Kryptic Minds have decided to bring their talent home for a while. Their own Defcom imprint has hardly been lacking in decent material, with plenty of their own tunes and some remix action from masters of the dark arts Tech Itch & B Key already under their belt. Now it seems that Leon Switch and Kryptic Minds are ready to unveil their biggest project to date, Lost All Faith.
Lost All Faith is Leon Switch & Kryptic Minds first artist album and is dedicated to Si's (Kryptic Minds) late brother, who died 2 years ago. The title track is an eleven minute long orchestral piece in memory of Si's brother and is by no means the only highlight on the LP.
So far the album has 5 tracks ready to go:
Leon Switch & Kryptic Minds - Lost All Faith
Leon Switch & Kryptic Minds - Secure (John B Remix)
Leon Switch & Kryptic Minds - Take The Pain Away (Technical Itch Remix)
Leon Switch & Kryptic Minds - Opus 1
Leon Switch & Kryptic Minds - Opus 2
Their are also 2 more untitled slabs of darkness from the Defcom lads already completed and ready to bust some sound systems wherever anyone lucky enough to cut these dubs plays out! The LP will also feature a track from overlord of all that's Freaky and Obscene Dylan and another from Teebee who has been on top production form with his Legacy LP flying off the shelves as I type this. Alongside the John B & Tech Itch remixes on this piece this has to make this contender for one of 2005's albums of the year already!
Samplers for the album should be expected sometime in Feb 2005

Metalheadz - MDZ 04 - The Empire strikes back
von Anonymous am 24.10.2004, 15:11
|
A new LP of beats, newcomers' 12"s, complete repress of the catalogue and a CD series ? it's all chokka at Goldie's Metalheadz.
Having recently celebrated a decade in the game, Metalheadz are back about in most prolific fashion and opening their doors to an array of freshly A&R'd talent. Kryptic Minds & Leon Switch's Headz debut 'Hide The Tears' is currently doing its destructive baddest in the drum & bass charts ? look for more releases from the pair on their own Defcom imprint before too long. It's followed this month by another Metalheadz newboy, Amit, with his spellbinding beats, 'Gatecrasher / Pirates'. Blame pops up in October, pausing from his work with Swift to contribute the rattling, 'Medussa / Burnout'. And then comes the entrance of Hive; his name marked on the map by 'Last Call' and 'Neo', the American turns his attention to METH59 and the super heavyweight, 'Krush / Against The Grain'. Goldie returns to bolster the ship's sixtieth with 'Say You Love Me' and then makes way for a Kryptic Minds / Leon Switch return.
Elsewhere, the fourth artist compilation album is penned in for the autumn as a fourpack vinyl treat and double CD [with Goldie mix].
MDZ04: The Empire Strikes Back
Photek - Age Of Empires
Skitty - I Can't Describe
Seba - 16 Stories
Loxy & J Dub - Twisted 3rd Mind (Keaton & Hive Rmx)
Spirit - Dial Up
Beta 2 - Bad Dayz
Leon Switch & Kryptic Mindz - Prejudice & Politics
Blame - Secret Fire
Bonus Mix CD Tracks.
John Rolodex & Synoflex - Novacaine
Gremlinz and Stranjah - Tingz
Total Science - Defcom 69
Leon Switch & Kryptic Mindz - The King
Out in October.
More CDs are to follow next year as the Metalheadz draw on the depth of their ten years to compile a retrospective series. Storm, Goldie, Randall and Marley Marl are among those on the shortlist to kick off the, 'My Favourite 15...' sessions; where each DJ will pick and mix 15 of their biggest Headz tunes.
Many of these are to be made available on wax at the same time, as the Headz back catalogue receives a welcome repress. Re-released in batches of 9 old classics and forgotten gems are to be reinvigorated throughout 2005.
At the settling Platinum brand, Bad Company's success, 'True Romance' is to be equalled in November by Total Science's highly revolved 'Defcom 69'. Two slammers out of two for the premium arm.
Get down to the Metalheadz residency at Herbal on the last Friday of every month to hear all the tunes, new and old. On 29 October Loxy, Clarkee, Marley Marl, Goldie & Freebass are all in attendance. And online watch for the new website soon to launch: www.metalheadz.co.uk

V/A - RARE GROOVES - Bassbin Label Compilation
von Anonymous am 13.10.2004, 17:57
|
http://www.dogsonacid.com/audio/dubplates/
Release Date für das Teil wird ca. Mitte November sein und ich freu' mich sehr drauf.
Die CD - Version wird einen Rohan Mix der bisherigen Bassbin Releases beinhalten.
Buy or die! würde ich da glatt sagen.

"Ed Rush & Optical are two of the best known DJ/producer duos in the D&B scene. Before linking up to create the legendary Virus label, Optical was engineering for the likes of Goldie and Grooverider whist Ed Rush was busy releasing pioneering D&B on vinyl.
